Director’s Statement
As a Vietnam veteran, I have long observed how war reshapes family dynamics. When a new generation of soldiers—including the children of Vietnam vets—deployed to Iraq, I felt compelled to investigate the threads that bind these generations together. My Vietnam Your Iraq does not delve into the politics of either conflict; instead, it looks inside the homes of military families to uncover the shared burdens, generational pride, and unspoken understandings that only those who have served can truly comprehend.
